PG questions, answered
Straight answers about paying-guest stays and how LIVRAAH works. Where a question is about renting in general, we say so — nothing here is a substitute for reading the PG's own rules before you pay.

What is a PG (paying guest) accommodation?
A PG is a furnished room you rent for a monthly fee, usually with shared or attached bathrooms, and often with food, water and electricity bundled into the rent. It is a common choice for students and working professionals who want a ready-to-move room without a long lease, a deposit for furniture, or utility connections in their own name. A hostel works the same way at a larger scale, and co-living adds shared kitchens and common areas.
How do I find a PG on LIVRAAH?
Open Discover, pick a city or type an area or PG name, then narrow the list by monthly rent, sharing type and who the PG is for. Each listing shows the rent range, the deposit, the room types, the amenities and how many beds are free right now, so you can compare before you call.
How much does a PG cost?
It depends on the city, the locality and how many people share the room — a single-occupancy room costs more per person than a four-sharing room in the same building. LIVRAAH does not publish a single city rate because it would be wrong for most streets; every listing shows its own rent range and deposit, and the Discover filters let you set the monthly budget you can actually pay.
What should I check before booking a PG?
Confirm five things in writing: the monthly rent and what it includes, the refundable deposit and how it is returned, how many people share the room, whether water and electricity are metered or included, and the notice period for moving out. Then check the practical ones — visitor and entry rules, food timings, Wi-Fi, laundry, and whether the bathroom is attached or shared. Visiting in person or asking for a video walkthrough of the exact room is the surest check.
What is usually included in the rent?
Most PGs include water and Wi-Fi, and many include electricity, cleaning and food. It varies by PG, so LIVRAAH shows each listing's amenities and marks the ones the owner lists as included in the rent. Treat that as the owner's description, and confirm anything that changes your monthly cost — especially electricity and food — before you pay.
Does LIVRAAH verify the PGs listed?
Owners submit their PG details, rooms, prices and an identity proof, and our team reviews the submission before the PG appears as verified in search. Verification means the listing and the owner were checked against what was submitted — it is not a safety audit of the building, so still visit or ask for a walkthrough before you move in.
What do single, double and four-sharing rooms mean?
They describe how many people share one room: single sharing is a room to yourself, double sharing has two beds, and four sharing has four. Rent per person drops as the sharing count rises, and the number of beds free in each room type is listed on the PG page.
How do I list my PG on LIVRAAH?
Create an owner account, add the property details, the room types, the beds and the monthly rent, upload photos and an identity proof, then send it for review. Once it is approved the PG appears in search with live bed availability, and rent collection, requests and maintenance stay in the same place.
